Performance Mesh Upper
A performance mesh upper, on the WK400 allows air to flow in and out whilst simultaneously releasing built-up heat keeping your feet cool and comfortable as you move. Designed with a contoured fit the shoe's upper works with the foot for a snug but comfortable feel for a secure fit as soon as you put them on. The shoes are treated with a coating that is based on natural probiotics that block the growth of odour-causing microbes; meaning that you will always feel and smell fresh. Increasing the comfort of this Keen shoe is a padded tongue and cuff that provides a soft feel and reduces irritation on your walk. Overlays have been added to increase the durability of the shoe, working to resist damage from bumps and scrapes on the trail, these also help to protect the feet. Lastly, the shoes have an offset lacing system that relieves pressure on top of your foot and helps to lock the midfoot down to reduce excessive movement, making these perfect for long walks.
EVA Midsole
Constructed using an EVA midsole, the WK400 provides comfortable cushioning that keeps you going all day long. The dual-density EVA provides significant cushioning and comfort to help improve the level of your performance so you can stay at your optimum level, for longer. Holding excellent cushioning abilities, the midsole absorbs shocks as you move throughout the gait cycle providing resilient cushioning and reducing the risks of potential injury. A removable PU insole also features within the midsole to provide added cushioning and support. The insole sits comfortably under the foot and can be easily removed if you'd prefer not to use it. For increased stability, the shoes have a full-length nylon plate, helping to support the foot and ankle, reducing the risk of injury. Completing the midsole is KEEN.CURVE technology, a constant curve geometry and a high-energy midsole that gives you the feeling of forward momentum.
All Terrain Rubber Outsole
Providing ultimate, all-around protection, the WK400 features a durable rubber outsole. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable meaning no matter what you throw at it, the WK400 will perform time and time again. This high-traction rubber promotes grip on a multitude of surfaces while delivering the durability you need to go the distance. A multi-directional tread pattern enhances the grip to prevent slippage.
