Recycled Mesh Upper
The upper is crafted from 100% recycled mesh and webbing for advanced breathability and an eco-conscious choice. The lining is constructed from 100% recycled mesh, allowing heat and vapour to escape for fresh-feeling feet. The bellows tongue keeps out debris and the traditional lacing system (with recycled laces) secures the midfoot down to prevent in-shoe slippage. An external rear sling further locks in the heel for total confidence. Cleansport NXT has been used to provide natural odour control, keeping feet feeling and smelling fresh as you push on and a 30% recycled integrated EVA foam insole provides underfoot plushness.
Barefoot 2 EVA Midsole
Merrell Barefoot 2 is designed to keep the foot in a natural position, with a zero drop, to encourage natural running form. Naturally, you would run on your toes rather than your heel as most shoes encourage. By encouraging you up onto your toes, your speed will increase and the risk of injuring your joints is reduced. EVA foam has been used for the midsole to ensure a light and durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down.
Vibram Ecostep Outsole
The shoes feature a Vibram Ecostep outsole. It is made from 30% recycled rubber, for an exciting combination of renewability and performance. It is robust and delivers great grip on wet and dry surfaces. The 2mm lugs grip onto the ground below and tackle smooth, rough, wet and dry surfaces easily, so you can take your adventures to the next level.
