Waterproof Suede and Mesh Upper
The upper of the Speed Solo has been constructed with a combination of mesh and suede. The breathable mesh allows heat and moisture to escape, whilst the suede overlays provide structure and protection. The upper is also waterproof, sealing out any water so your feet stay dry and comfortable. The protective and abrasion-resistant rubber heel and toe caps keep feet and the shoe itself safe from knocks and scrapes and increase the durability of the shoe for longer-lasting use and enjoyment. The bellows tongue keeps any dirt and debris out of the shoe, whilst the 100% recycled laces and webbing lock down the foot with an eco-conscious flair.
FloatPro Foam Midsole
Within the midsole Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light, durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down. The lightweight midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. This is combined with BLOOM performance foam with 10% algae biomass, transforming green water into clean water in the process. This foam increases the cushioning underfoot and ups the eco-conscious appeal of the shoes. A built-in rockplate provides protection from any loose rocks underfoot and a removable PU footbed with a mesh cover allows you to adjust the cushioning to your liking.
Vibram Ecostep Recycled Outsole
The outer has been designed with 30% recycled rubber for a sustainable choice, all whilst providing an ultra-durable, grippy wearing experience. The outsole forms a solid bond with the ground for increased confidence, whilst 4mm lugs bite into the earth for excellent traction on mixed terrain.
