Perspair Upper
Enhancing in-shoe comfort and providing you remarkable breathability to keep you focused on the trails, the Mescalito Planet shoes have a Perspair fabrication present through the upper. This upper is designed in a single-piece construction with recycled yarns to prevent irritation and abrasions from occurring, whilst also ensuring lightweight comfort. These materials are high-performing with the ability to keep your feet comfortable and cool, whilst also being moisture-wicking for dry, enjoyable journeys. Alongside this, the uppers have strategically placed abrasive-resistant PU Tek Hypertex inserts to provide long-lasting protection to your feet and toes on challenging terrain and shielding from knocks and bumps. The rubber toe rand also ensures feet are effectively protected and has been made from 20% recycled rubber from production waste. The shoes have an Autofit Collar construction, which is an ergonomically designed collar, with padding, to ensure maximum adaptability and comfort to the uppers of the shoes. This, therefore, reduces impact stress that rests on the Achilles and malleus area. Completing the uppers, a traditional lace-up construction works to keep feet locked in and secure within the shoes.
EVA Midsole
An EVA compound with 35% recycled materials resides through the midsole section of the Mescalito Planets to enhance in-shoe comfort and cushion your landing for an enjoyable ride. The EVA is able to transfer this energy into rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. Towards the top of the midsole, the EVA changes, as it is softer and less dense, meaning that on every step you will feel a soft cushioned feel, making the first step of the day feel as comfortable as the last one. Underneath the heel, the shoes use a Heel Tension System, offering you great stability and adaptability to the severe stress derived from steep routes. The particular design and the TPU material help the upper responsively, avoiding torsional twists and making walking easier even on difficult and rough terrains. Additionally, an Ortholite sockliner enhances comfort, performance and provides you with long-term cushioning whilst simultaneously creating a cool, dry, healthy environment for feet to thrive.
Vibram Litebase Outsole
For exceptional grip and traction on varying terrains, the Mescalito Planets utilise Vibram's Litebase outsole construction. This will ensure that the shoes remain lightweight, which is a large factor in conserving energy, whilst assisting with improvement in performance. The Vibram Litebase sole reduces 30% of the overall sole weight through a reduction of the sole thickness by 50% whilst still maintaining Vibram's iconic quality of grip, traction and durability. The materials are highly durable, meaning you can rely on these shoes for the long haul. The soles have deep lugs to provide grip and traction on muddy or wet terrain, allowing you to feel confident with every stride.
