Scarpa Mescalito GORE-TEX Junior Walking Shoes
The Mescalito GORE-TEX Walking Shoe is a technical shoe designed for long approaches and more technical scrambling in damp conditions.
GORE-TEX Upper
Surrounding the upper of the shoes is a GORE-TEX membrane which will provide you with a durable waterproofing. The material will mould to your footshape without any stretch to the material to cause lasting damage. Air is able to pass in and out of the material, and the constant supply will provide the feet with ventilation, which will keep you feeling fresh over a long period of time. In addition to this, there is a rubber toe cap, which will provide protection to the forefoot, as well as improving grip. A reinforced heel counter will hold the rearfoot in a strong and upright position while providing adding protection. Long laces that run from the toe all the way up the foot are easy to secure, allowing you to find a perfect fit every time. A soft padded tongue and ankle collar will improve comfort and reduce the risk of irritation by rubbing and chafing. Great performance and comfort is guaranteed on any terrain.
EVA Midsole
With an EVA midsole, the Mescalito will provide you with supreme comfort and protection. This is because the midsole has different characteristics. At the bottom of the midsole, the EVA is extremely densely packed. This will mean that all shocks and heavy impacts are attenuated instantly and effectively, stopping the forces from reaching the sole of the foot. Additionally, the EVA is able to transfer this energy into rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. Towards the top of the midsole, the EVA changes, as it is softer and less dense. This will mean that on every step you will feel a soft cushioned feel, making the first step of the day feel as comfortable as the last one.
Rubber Outsole
Grip and traction on the most challenging of terrain, whilst also keeping the boot extremely lightweight. This is down largely to the rubber outsole. The rubber is able to form a solid connection with a wide range of different surfaces, which will keep you feeling stabilised and upright. The rubber itself is abrasion resistant, and will maintain its shape and definition despite use on rocky ground. An aggressive lug design will anchor your feet to the ground, especially if it is wet, providing a solid and firm base to push off from.
