Matryx Upper
Designed to provide a smooth, glove-like fit and feel, the upper of the Salomon Phantasm Running Shoes has been constructed using a Matryx upper. The single-layer mesh is weaved with aramid fibers, which provide comfortable and efficient foot mapping support. Not only this but it also ensures enhanced breathability whilst remaining as lightweight as possible. Perforations within the fabric create a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in; the mesh allows cool air to flow into the garment whilst, at the same time allows hot humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. Salomon have also added their Sensifit technology in the shoes to provide a perfect fit, the technology cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customised fit all around. Providing you with supreme comfort Salomon have added a full EVA molded sock liner, this works by mimicking the foot's natural shape and offers additional cushioning. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Energy Surge Midsole
The midsole has been constructed using Salomon's signature Energy Surge Midsole that provides lightweight and responsive cushioning. The midsole provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection for all-day wear. The midsole includes an Energy Blade which is built into the midsole, the purpose of this is to boost forward propulsion. The joined efforts of the blade, midsole foam and sole geometry make for a snappy, propulsive running machine. Towards the bottom, the midsole is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. As well as this, a Reverse Camber has also been used within the midsole to provide lightweight cushioning and comfort. Inspired by Salomon's ski heritage, this curved midsole geometry helps you feel like you are floating over the ground. The reverse camber allows you to spend less time on the ground and therefore allows for a faster ride.
Contagrip Outsole
Tackle any run with supreme confidence Knowing that you won't be let down by your shoe's grip. Using Contagrip, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between shoe and terrain. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed. Salomons Road Contagrip combines flat, wide lugs for grip on flat, hard surfaces, with a compound that balances durability and adhesion. Ideal for road running.
