Ripstop Mesh Upper
The upper of the Now has been crafted from a 100% recycled ripstop mesh for increased durability and breathability. The fabric provides abrasion-resistant protection and long-lasting durability and performance. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, GORE-TEX has over 9 billion pores per square inch to keep water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. Overlays across the toes provide increased protection from sharp rocks or debris on the trail whilst protecting them from damage. An extended heel-fit collar system has been included to increase comfort and to help lock down the foot for a secure feel. Combined with a traditional lacing system, this locks the midfoot down for confident strides.
EVA Midsole
Featuring an EVA midsole made with 20% sugarcane, the Vasque Now offers lightweight, durable cushioning. EVA cushion the foot upon impact, reducing the stress and strain placed upon the muscles and joints in the foot and ankle. This reduces injury risk short and long-term, as footstrikes are buffered. Additionally, EVA provides gentle, springy rebounds, utilising the power of your last step to push you into your next one. This means you don't lose momentum and forward movement feels like a breeze, culminating in fatigue reduction, so you go further. Increasing underfoot comfort the shoes include a Bloom EVA Foam footbed made with at least 45% bio-content, for a soft feel from the moment you put them on, making them good for tired feet but the planet too.
Vasque XLITE Outsole
Completing the Now GORE-TEX is an XLITE outsole. This high-performing rubber offers grip and optimal ground adaptability, allowing you to easily tackle tricky terrain whether the surface is wet or dry. The outsole features multi-directional lugs that dig into the ground providing you with a solid base to push off from whilst providing a sure footing. Providing a stable base the shoes use a wider heel and forefoot for greater balance on uneven terrain.
