Flyknit-Atomknit Upper
Providing your feet with an outstanding level of comfort and support, the shoes Alphafly NEXT% 2's utilise a Flyknit-Atomknit upper construction. The materials throughout the upper of the shoes provide you with a contoured fit, whilst also being lightweight and extremely breathable. The minimalist fabric sits close to the foot to ensure a dynamic, lightweight fit that's ideal for racing whilst perforations within the fabric increase airflow, creating a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. The breathable upper allows cool air to flow into the construction while simultaneously allowing hot, humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The uppers are completed with notched laces, which offer a secure, yet soft lace-up system. This works alongside an integrated knit tongue, with lofted padding to ensure a secure, repeatable fit, which helps to reduce lace pressure. This shoe's unique design celebrates Eliud's record-breaking 5,000m performance in 2003 when he was wearing the Nike Zoom Miler track spikes with the white base and red stripe through the Swoosh logo. A special "Kipchoge-ism" is on the left insole whilst the location and record time of his ground-breaking performance sit on the right insole.
ZoomX Midsole
Nike's ZoomX is lighter, softer and more responsive than any Nike foam, designed to maximize speed by delivering greater energy return. ZoomX was derived from a foam traditionally used in aerospace innovation and applied for the first time in performance footwear. The ZoomX midsole in this shoe is a lightweight cushioning providing you exceptional comfort and protection for your feet. The foam construction also delivers an impressive 85% energy return, giving you the propulsion that you need from a racing shoe. Combined with this are 2 slim visible Zoom Air units, which assist you with more energy return. A full-length Carbon-Plate is integrated into the shoe which delivers a sort of roll-forward feel that makes you want to take on the next step. Finally, the shoes have specifically designed lofted heel pods that use Flyknit yarns for secure, extended comfort and a lightweight heel lockdown.
Durable Rubber Outsole
Using data from hundreds of different runners, Nike has created an outsole that has different angles of traction in the areas you need it most. The design places optimal rubber on the road for efficiency and traction; high-abrasion rubber adorns the rearfoot to increase durability, resisting the traumas of heel strike to supply you with a reliable and long-lasting running buddy. Lightweight foam rubber covers the forefoot to provide grip and durability whilst enhancing energy return. Lengthwise flex grooves have been used on the rubber outsole to enhance multi-surface traction ensuring confident footing wherever your next race takes you.
