Ballistic Nylon Upper
Providing superior levels of protection and shielding against wear and snags, the Mutalons use a tough ballistic nylon upper. This tough, durable upper will protect your feet from vegetation and rocks when running in the hills and mountains, but will also supply your feet with breathability to keep feet cool and fresh. Strategically placed perforations are provided to supply your feet with constant airflow to ensure feet won't overheat or become uncomfortable. Additionally, the shoes have a gusseted tongue which adds to the comfort of the shoes and prevents dirt and debris from entering the shoes, whilst a toe guard protects you from knocks and bumps on the trail. To ensure a locked-in, secure feel, Inov8 have utilised their MET-CRADLE technology at the heel of the Mudtalon. Present as thick overlay strips, the MET-CRADLE materials connect your midfoot to your heel, and working alongside the laces, ensure that your foot remains locked-in and secure, to prevent in-shoe slipping when traversing across tricky terrain. The brand-new anatomical shape of the Mudtalon hugs the natural contours of your foot, locking in at the heel and widening at the toes for a secure, comfortable feel.

POWERFLOW PRO Midsole
Utilising Inov8's lightest midsole yet, the Mudtalons are made from a POWERFLOW PRO compound. Despite their lightweight construction, the Mudtalon has a slightly thicker midsole, compared to the Mudtalon Speed, meaning a greater level of comfort and bounce over a long distance. The super-lightweight structure will provide you with high levels of cushioning, with a design that still allows you to feel and respond to the ground below, which is particularly important when running across uneven, technical terrain. To preserve your energy the shoes have a BOOMERANG footbed, formed from hundreds of foam beads that compress and spring back for 40% energy return during your stride. This insole makes it a perfect shoe for longer runs where maximising every bit of energy counts. Further ensuring feet remain protected underfoot, a flexible META-SHANK rock plate is used, shielding you from rock and roots without sacrificing ground feel.
STICKYGRIP Rubber Outsole
Made from a new and improved STICKYGRIP outsole construction, the Mudtalons have 8mm rubber, talon-like studs that will gouge through the soft mud and cling to wet rock for dependable grip and traction. Designed with a unique goat's hoof shape, the studs work to release the mud just as quickly once you push off, keeping you light and in control. The durable outsole will provide you with the confidence you need to stride comfortably across changing terrain, keeping you in control and ready to tackle whatever is thrown at you.
