Mountain Equipment Trango Jacket
This dual-layer offset baffle construction is combined with a heat-reflective internal fabric to make the Trango a light mobile and highly packable duvet. With levels of insulation that would only normally be possible with heavier and bulkier box wall jackets, this is the perfect choice for remote trips.
This Mountain Equipment Trango Jacket has been created using a DRILITE Loft 40D outer fabric that is totally windproof and highly water resistant, protecting you from windchill as well as light showers. The Drilite Loft 40D is highly durable protecting the jacket from knocks and scrapes when in the mountains. It is the ideal fabric for clothing and sleeping bags destined for serious mountaineering, climbing and backpacking in difficult conditions. The jacket has a 1500mm hydrostatic head making it ideal for protecting high-quality down and synthetic insulations. Keeping you warm when the temperature drops, is a 90/10 700 fill power, pure down filling, providing you with a great warmth-to-weight ratio. The high loft material works by trapping body heat inside tiny pockets of air, providing warmth even when no longer active. The jacket features a box-wall construction throughout the body, with double-layer offset baffle construction sleeves. This is the warmest baffle construction as it allows the down to loft more, effectively trapping in more heat and increasing warmth. The construction, results in fewer cold spots in the jacket. The horizontal compartments are designed to hold the down in place around the body and maximize the performance of the jacket. The jacket also features POLARLOFT insulation in the front, lower sleeves and shoulders to resist compression. By adding this synthetic insulation, you will stay warm even in wet weather conditions as this is also water resistant. The sleeves have a reflective internal scrim that reflects heat created by the body, increasing the warmth of the jacket. Enhancing the weather protection of the jacket is a Mountain HC Insulated Hood, keeping you warm and dry whilst adjustable cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords trap in the heat. A two-way YKK moulded centre front zip allows for easy on and off, this also provides ventilation when zipped down and traps heat when fully up. Finishing the Trango Jacket are two zipped hand warmer pockets with Octayarn lining and two Napoleon chest pockets. A further two internal drop pockets and one zipped internal pocket provide you with plenty of space to store your essential items when on the move.
