Scarpa Moraine GORE-TEX Walking Shoes
The MORAINE GORE-TEX in its low version is designed as a hiking shoe. Comfortable right from the first fit, it is versatile and functional, suitable for all walkers who approach the outdoors for short and long walks.
Nubuck and Mesh Upper
Supplying your feet with the perfect level of protection, comfort and breathability, the upper of the Moraine GORE-TEX has been created with a combination of nubuck leather and mesh. The leather protects the foot against bumps and scrapes, whilst being highly durable providing you with a shoe that is built to last. Built-in mesh panels increase the breathability of the shoes. These panels allow air to flow through the entire upper whilst releasing built-up heat, keeping your feet cool and comfortable as you move on the trail. Providing you with weather protection, Scarpa has added a GORE-TEX membrane. The membrane stops water and moisture from entering the shoes, so your feet stay dry in wet weather conditions. Not only do they keep your feet dry from the outside but the inside too, the membrane allows heat and vapour to escape through small pores, allowing your feet to breathe even when the temperatures rise. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system, that locks down the midfoot for a personalised fit and reduced in-shoe movement.
EVA Midsole
The midsole is made from an EVA platform that resides underfoot providing lightweight and responsive cushioning. The soft and durable foam spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA is highly durable and ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable no matter the distance. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced will also be returned as a rebound, adding a spring in your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for the unpredictable trails and tough terrain. A dual-density heel increases the comfort and absorbs shocks providing all-day comfort. The shoes include a medial shank that optimises foot stability, helping you to stay in control whilst tackling uneven ground. Completing the midsole is the use of the RECCO safety system. This uses a RECCO detector used by professional rescue teams using a harmonic radar that enables rapid directional pinpointing of a person's precise location. The shoes include integrated RECCO reflectors to help provide added visibility in low-light conditions.
PRESA HIK-04 Sole
A PRESA HIK-04 Sole, developed by SCARPA with SUPERGUM rubber compound, completes the Scarpa Moraine. This is made using the perfect blend of durability and grip for on and off-road adventures, meaning you get great traction on multiple terrains for use on all your adventures. This is achieved thanks to Scarpa's sole design which has been made with 4 key areas, the propulsion area in the midfoot, the braking area in the heel, a maximum grip area along the toes, finished with a stability area through the midfoot, arch and heel. The multi-directional lugs in these areas provide the needed amount of grip, especially in wet conditions, providing a solid base to push off from. The rubber is abrasion-resistant, retaining its shape and definition despite its use on hard and rough surfaces.
