Merrell Moab Speed GORE-TEX Walking Shoes
The Moab Speed takes the innovations of the archival Moab and updates them for the ever-changing trail. Built on the solid foundational rock plate, the Moab Speed features recycled laces, lining and footbed. The shoe is fitted with FloatPro and a new Vibram Traction Lug outsole design for added traction and stability.
Lightweight Mesh Upper
Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Merrell Moab Speed GORE-TEX Walking Shoes have been constructed using a lightweight mesh and TPU upper. The mesh upper works to provide lightweight breathability and protection to keep your feet safe on rocky terrains. Acting as a lightweight second skin, the mesh ensures you are able to go the distance in complete comfort. Perforations in the fabric encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in. TPU overlays have been strategically placed on the upper to provide durability and support where it's needed the most. The reinforcements wrap the foot in lightweight support to promote a secure fit that resists the risks of wear and tear. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it integrates with the mesh upper to supply a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. By perfectly matching the GORE-TEX membrane to the footwear upper material, wrinkles and folds are eliminated, reducing pressure points and creating a true-to-size forefoot area. A recycled mesh lining sits comfortably against the foot and increases ventilation whilst the padded collar reduces the risk of chafing and irritation. A protective toe cap helps to protect the toes from loose debris and rock. Completing the upper are 100% recycled laces which lock down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
FloatPro Foam Midsole
Within the midsole Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light, durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down. The lightweight midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. An EVA foam insole sits underneath the foot to ensure complete comfort over long distances. The insole provides additional cushioning so you can go further for longer in complete comfort.
Vibram Ecostep
Developed using a Vibram Ecostep outsole, the Moab Speed provides extreme grip and traction for all surface wear. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the extremely durable 30% recycled rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip, the outsole provides traction on varied terrain for confident footing. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole is a rock plate that protects forefoot against sharp objects so you can continue with complete confidence.
