With a plush and supportive Fresh Foam X midsole and NDurance rubber outsole, this shoe delivers enhanced performance and comfort with each step.
Engineered Mesh Upper
A new, updated upper to their predecessors, the 880v13 utilises an engineered mesh upper, providing durability and protection, whilst enhancing in-shoe comfort. This construction will provide your feet with a constant supply of airflow, to keep your feet feeling comfortable and cool when the race heats up. The uppers are engineered in specific areas of the shoe, providing you with foot support and a great level of stretch for a cosy fit and feel. As well as this, a no-sew material application means reduced weight plus a minimal risk of rubbing and blisters. A moulded external heel counter locks down the midfoot and helps to control heel movement so you'll always feel supported. To supply you with a locked-in, secure fit, the shoes have adjustable laces, allowing you to focus solely on the marathon ahead. As part of the 2023 TCS London Marathon New Balance collection, the shoes have a unique print and logo details provided on the upper.
Fresh Foam X Midsole
Providing you with the softest version of the 880s, the 13th edition utilises Fresh Foam X cushioning. Fresh Foam X provides you with an excellent level of energetic rebound, giving plush underfoot comfort, and protecting you from injuries during high-impact elements of your race. The full-length Fresh Foam keeps the cushioning consistent and improves the transition in the gait cycle. The top-bed foam and Fresh Foam X underfoot construction displaces heel impact and offers a responsive approach to cushioning. The Fresh Foam X 880v13 is still fitted with the New Balance signature plush, but firm and responsive cushioning. This midsole uses bio-based materials to offer a smaller carbon footprint without needing to sacrifice performance.
NDurance Rubber Outsole
Providing you grip and traction on your run, the Fresh Foam X 880v13s have an NDurance rubber outsole. The compound provides you with durability and support in areas that are normally high-wear, therefore enhancing the longevity and reliability of the shoes. The rubber will form a solid bond of friction with varying surfaces, therefore reducing the risks of slipping and keeping you stable through the duration of your marathon. This outsole will allow you to train, run and compete on any road conditions thanks to its durable nature.
