Scott Kinabalu 3 Women's Trail Running Shoes
The Kinabalu trail running shoes have an extensive history. Now in its third generation, Scott have given the shoe a full redesign to provide you with improved comfort, versatile traction and running efficiency out on the trails.
Breathable Mesh Upper
The Kinabalu 3 Trail Shoes have an extremely lightweight and durable ripstop mesh upper that will keep your feet feeling ventilated and fresh. The lightweight mesh fabric allows cool air to circulate, whilst built-up heat created from movement can escape. This will mean that the feet will stay cool and comfortable, on those long runs. The sweat produced will also be able to exit the material, where it is then released away from the feet. Covering the toes, are overlays created with a thicker material that will prevent injuries from occurring from bumps and knocks which you may receive on the trails. The shoes also include a thermoplastic support cage that will keep the foot in a firm and upright position, helping to prevent it from rolling or twisting out of position. The shoes feature a traditional lacing system that provides you with a locked-in feel and reduces in-shoe slippage. The no-sew toe guard reduces the risk of irritation from rubbing and chafing within the shoe.
Dual Density Kinetic Midsole
Providing you with a smooth and plush ride, the shoes feature a dual-density Kinetic midsole. Kinetic Foam returns 14% more energy than previous foams Scott have used within their shoes. The combination of the two foams provides you with protection, cushioning and energy return. Directly underfoot the shoes have a softer foam to increase comfort, protecting the foot from harsh landings. Whereas the second layer closer to the ground has been made firmer. This will instantly absorb any shocks from below. After heavy shocks and impacts, the energy is returned as rebound and bounce back, which will give you an added spring in your step. Not only this but the shoes include a Women's Specific Ortholite ultra footbed, to provide instant step-in comfort. Helping to provide a more efficient gait cycle the shoes use Scott's ER2 geometry, a rocker system that helps create a rocking chair effect. This design helps to promote an efficient, smooth roll from initial impact to toe-off.
Versatile Traction Outsole
The Versatile Outsole has a configuration that will help you stay in control of every step for longer. The rubber used is extremely durable, which means that it will be able to retain all of its properties over a long course of time. The lugs are strategically positioned to give you outstanding traction and control over the different levels of rocks, roots and trails. As beneficial on dry ground as it is in deep mud or wet surfaces, the lugs can dig into the ground, assisting with takeoffs by securing your foot and providing a firm base to take off from. It will also dig into to ground as you start to break, giving you full control at all times. In addition, there are strategically orientated chevrons placed all around the forefoot, which will provide extra stability and support over long hours and long distances of running.
