Engineered Mesh Upper
For a breezy, cool running experience, the GT-2000 13 utilises a comfortable engineered mesh fabric through the upper. The lightweight mesh ensures that feet remain cool, no matter how intense your run gets. Strategically placed perforations allow a constant airflow to travel through the shoes. This means that even during the high-heat periods of your training your feet will remain cool and ready to tackle whatever the run throws at you next. The materials have moisture-wicking properties, to prevent a build-up of sweat and moisture by dispersing it through the construction of the fabric, further ensuring you remain dry and comfortable during sweaty and hot sessions. The materials are also flexible, allowing natural movement within the shoes for comfortable, distraction-free strides. Overlays feature across the uppers to provide structure and support and enhance durability in high-wearing areas, whilst a seamless construction reduces irritation and chafing. To ensure a locked-in, comfortable feel, the shoes have a soft tongue and collar, which work with the lacing system for a secure fit, preventing in-shoe slipping from occurring. A heel pull tab makes putting the shoes on that bit easier. Finally, the shoes have reflective details to enhance visibility during low-light conditions.
Designed with the environment in mind, the shoes' upper uses at least 61% recycled compounds. ASICS have used less water and reduced its carbon emissions while producing the sockliner, and the insole, toe box, eyelet, tongue and collar lining are all made from recycled materials.
FF Blast Plus Midsole
Constructed using ASICS' FF Blast Plus foam, the shoes have a soft, cushioned landing with excellent responsiveness, allowing feet to thrive under the pressures of your run. Lighter than standard FF Blast, the midsole provides up to 15% more cushioning, resulting in 15% more energy during impact and returning 15% more energy when striking. This compound therefore keeps feet feeling energised, bouncy and responsive. Working alongside this, the shoes have a PureGEL insole which improves softness, with shock-absorbing properties to reduce the risks of injuries or discomfort when striking down on harder surfaces. PureGEL also helps with smoother heel-toe transitions as your foot rolls, and the increased heel bevel and forefoot flare also assist with this. Working alongside this, the shoes have an OrthoLite x-30 sockliner which provides step-in comfort and adds softness underfoot. Finally, the midsole of the GT-2000 13 features 3D Guidance System technology that consists of distinct components designed to provide stability by guiding the foot naturally.
AHARPLUS Outsole
Supplying excellent grip and traction on the ground below, the shoes have an AHARPLUS rubber outsole alongside AHAR LOW HARDNESS outsole materials. Helping to improve the durability of the shoes the AHARPLUS heel plug rubber keeps you secure with the ground below. Being lightweight and super tough, the outsole is long-lasting and reliable, with an AHAR LOW HARDNESS compound that helps to improve the resistance against wear. Additionally, flex grooves adorn the outsole to add grip and traction on various surfaces and conditions.
