Synthetic and Mesh Upper
Engineered using a combination of synthetic and mesh materials, the Hierro v8 wraps the foot in breathable comfort whilst providing a more secure, locked-down fit. The upper is fully printed to ensure protection and keep things lightweight. The mesh enables cool air to flow whilst removing uncomfortable heat build-up and regulating temperature to create a healthy environment where feet can thrive. The upper construction is also highly durable and supportive encouraging a locked-down fit, and utilises a soft, padded tongue to further enhance in-shoe comfort. Featuring a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane, the shoes' upper effectively seals out moisture to offer exceptional waterproof protection for dry comfortable feet. The protective overlays increase the overall durability and defend feet against roots, rocks and other general hazards on the trail. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Fresh Foam X Midsole
The latest model of Fresh Foam technology is a more energetic rebound than its predecessor. Absorbing shock impact, the Fresh Foam X midsole protects against stress to joints when striking down on hard, unforgiving surfaces without compromising a responsive, natural ride. Delivering plush underfoot cushioning, the midsole is a fusion of plush foam and advanced design, creating an ultra-cushioned and geometrically sound ride. Fresh Foam encourages a smooth heel-toe transition, reduces damage to the muscles and in turn, diminishes fatigue, allowing you to push further for longer. The midsole features an increased stack height from previous versions for added cushioning. Completing the midsole is a soft, sock liner that offers exceptional breathability and moisture-wicking properties. The sock liner allows cool air to circulate whilst moisture vapour is removed for a cool, damp-free environment in which feet can thrive.
Vibram Outsole
Completing the New Balance Hierro is a Vibram rubber outsole that supplies a sticky grip for multi-directional traction. This high-performance outsole provides you with an unparalleled grip on both wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity, and optimal ground adaptability. The rubber can form a solid bond with the ground beneath it to ensure traction and control as you explore the unbeaten path. The shoes feature multi-directional lugs which supply you with increased traction on gravel and loose dirt, enabling you to tackle awkward ascents and difficult descents.
