Ultraweave Upper
Made from Puma's Ultraweave Upper, the Fast-R 2 Nitro Elite has an ultra-light construction, designed to keep feet comfortable, lightweight and breathable. The upper materials have a 4-way stretch design reducing the weight and allowing the foot to move comfortably, whilst providing a perfect sock-like fit. The perforations within the fabric allow cool air to flow, whilst hot muggy air escapes, providing a cooling sensation as you move and a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Not only this, but the upper is highly durable thanks to its construction, leaving you with shoes that are built to last. On the instep of the shoes, Puma has added PWRTAPE, which has been designed to provide structure and support, whilst also protecting areas that are more high-wearing. Finally, the traditional laces offer a secure, locked-in feel as you move.
Nitro Elite Midsole
The midsole of the Fast-R 2 Nitro Elite has been created using Puma's most elite foam. This is a nitrogen-infused foam, which is lightweight and springy, and provides you with high energy return and responsiveness. Infusing nitrogen into the foam, Puma has been able to expand their midsoles, by doing so the shoes are extremely comfortable underfoot whilst also providing maximum propulsion with each step, letting you run further and faster with ease. Not only will the foam help propel you forward helping you to hit those PBs, but it also absorbs shocks and negative impact forces as you strike hard unforgiving surfaces, by doing so this reduces stress on the joints and the risk of injury. An extended PWRPLATE through the midsole made from carbon fibre enhances energy return and propels you forward.
PUMAGRIP Outsole
Made using PUMAGRIP materials on the outsole of the Fast-R 2 Nitro Elites, the shoes have a maximum level of grip on various surfaces, allowing you to step out to conquer the racecourse in full confidence of achieving speed. This outsole construction combines hardness for durability and softness for grip, thanks to a construction optimised specifically for wet grounds.
