Salomon Crosstrak Waterproof Walking Boots

Synthetic Upper
Constructed using a synthetic upper, the Crosstrak Walking Boots ensure feet stay in place with every stride for added comfort and support throughout your adventure. Connected to the upper on both sides is a tongue to prevent debris from entering the boot and keep the tongue centred and comfortable against the foot. To avoid damp feet and therefore dampened spirits, an adv.DRY membrane Salomon's 3-layer waterproof laminate. Made with a PFC-free membrane sandwiched between 100% recycled fabric and nylon backing. This stops water and moisture from entering the boot but is highly breathable allowing built-up heat and vapour to escape. Keeping feet warm Salomon has included adv.WARM: Advanced cold-weather insulation, providing an excellent weight-to-warmth ratio with small air pockets between the fibre balls that trap body heat. The insulation has been made from 70% recycled polyester. This mid-cut version wraps your ankle for extra protection and a secure foothold. Utilising Sensifit, the shoes have a clever construction to provide a precise, optimal foothold and comfort. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system that locks in the midfoot and reduces in-shoe movement for distraction-free strides.
Energy Cell Midsole
Within the midsole, the boot has injected and compressed EVA forming the EnergyCell midsole. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection thanks to this dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is firm absorbing shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced will also be returned as a rebound, giving spring to your step. The higher you get in the midsole the EVA is less dense, making every step feel comfortable. An EVA sockliner also exists underfoot to provide the foot with a cushioned and cooler environment whilst reducing the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing. The boots have a winter sockliner designed for cold temperatures, featuring a 4mm layer of EVA foam for increased insulation, as well as a soft cover for extra comfort.
Winter Contagrip Outsole
The sole of the Crosstrak has been made from the ultra-grippy Contagrip Winter rubber compound, providing you with an unmatched level of grip and traction in the snowy terrain. This compound means the shoes will form a solid grip between the shoe and the terrain but will work to shed snow and mud quickly. Due to its unique composition, the sole is flexible even in the coldest weather to maintain grip and provide confidence as each stride takes you deeper into winter. This is due to their large lugs, providing you with the perfect level of grip, the lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will benefit you by acting as a solid base to push off from when taking your next stride.
