ASICS Magic Speed 2 Ekiden Women's Running Shoes
The Magic Speed 2 Ekiden shoes are made for both tempo runs and races, thanks to their exceptional energy return that's been updated from their predecessors, so you can achieve your PB. The shoe's colourway draws inspiration from an Ekiden relay race. Key design elements include a sash detail on the side and a series of katakana characters.
Engineered Mesh Upper
Wrapping around your feet for a supremely comfortable and personalised fit, the engineered mesh on the upper of the Magic Speed is designed to fit like a second skin. The material will sit comfortably over the foot, moving and flexing to allow you to make a full range of movements without any restriction. The material will also allow a steady flow of air in and out, which will provide constant breathability and ventilation to keep you going for longer in comfort. The no-sew construction of the upper will also encourage targeted airflow, whilst it will also remove the risk of irritations being caused by rubbing and chafing. Support is offered to the forefoot and rearfoot as the material thickens, protecting vulnerable areas of the feet. Completing the uppers of the Magic Speed 2 Ekiden's is a traditional lace-up construction, allowing you to keep your foot locked down and secure inside the shoes, whilst a flat-lying tongue prevents irritation from occurring.
FlyteFoam Blast Plus Midsole
Reconstructed with FF Blast Plus Cushioning, the Magic Speed 2 Shoes are lightweight, and provide you with an exceptional level of impact absorption, with a responsive rebound, therefore preventing injuries from occurring, and keeping you focused on the race ahead. Alongside this, the shoes have a full-length carbon and TPU plate, which have been sandwiched in the midsole, propelling your foot forwards, and helping to create a smoother, more propulsive rebound during the toe-off phase of your stride. A sockliner resides underfoot, providing additional comfort, and has been produced with a solution dyeing process that reduces water usage by approximately 33% and carbon emissions by approximately 45% compared to conventional dyeing techniques.
