adidas Strung Upper
Constructed using adidas' Strung technology, the upper of the Adizero Prime X 2 provides flexibility, breathability and support. Strung is a textile innovation that transforms athlete data into a dynamic material tuned to your needs. Crafted with layered strengthening where it counts most, the Strung upper is extra durable in the midfoot and heel. It makes it possible to map and program different fibre properties thread by thread. Targeted flexibility in key expansion zones through the forefoot means that the upper has been designed to feel like a flexible, lightweight and seamless cocoon around the foot, to help optimise your comfort and support you with every stride. The perforations within the fabric allow cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, allowing hot humid air to escape. The mesh feels like a lightweight second skin, providing a supportive and comfortable fit. Its construction creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in, letting them breathe when the temperatures rise or your training session heats up. Ensuring a lightweight, locked-in feel the upper has been constructed using light and thin materials which provide minimal weight and maximum performance. A knitted tongue features to enhance the locked-in feel of the supportive upper. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Made with a series of recycled materials, this upper features at least 50% recycled content. This product represents just one of adidas' solutions to help end plastic waste.
Lightstrike Pro Midsole
Designed to provide complete comfort from the moment you put them on till the moment you take them off, the adidas Adizero Prime X 2 have been constructed using 3 layers of Lightstrike Pro, more than in any other adidas running shoe, creating a stack height of 50 mm. Lightstrike cushioning spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces whilst propelling you forward to provide you with explosive movement and enduring speed. The light and springy ride supports your feet through the gait cycle whilst remaining as lightweight as possible to ensure you can reach new PBs. Working in tandem with Lightstrike cushioning is a Boost foam wedge embedded into the heel. The Boost foam compound provides endless energy return from the heel strike to the toe-off phase of the gait cycle. It features hundreds of visible energy capsules that store and unleash endless energy every time your foot hits the ground, meaning that every step is charged. When your heel hits the floor, the Boost particles compress and store kinetic energy; as you transition through to mid-stance, they relax and release their stored energy, which propels you forward with an explosive take-off. An energy core between two foam layers helps to reduce weight, giving more spring in the forefoot and midfoot. Completing the midsole is a 2-carbon-infused plate system that provides a smooth transition during the gait cycle. These two carbon-infused plates frame the new Lightstrike Pro core and are designed to create a platform for more responsiveness throughout your run.
Continental Rubber Outsole
Developed using a Continental rubber outsole, the Adizero Prime X 2 ensures extraordinary traction in wet and dry conditions. Inspired by tyre technology, Continental rubber supplies traction on varied surfaces supplying you with amazing and secure footing on uneven surfaces, giving you no excuse not to run. The rubber construction of the outsole is highly durable, resisting wear as it comes into contact with the ground for longer-lasting wear.
