The Adizero Boston 12 Shoes are built for mid- to long-distance running. They bring a race-day feel to training with a propulsive feel from the glass-fibre-infused ENERGYRODS 2.0, which limits energy loss underfoot. They're fast, but that does not come at the cost of durability - the midsole layers ultra-light LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning with a new version of durable LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0 EVA.
Lightweight Mesh Upper
Providing you with a comfortable layer of protection, the Boston 12 has a lightweight mesh upper construction. The mesh fabrics ensure that the shoes have a sock-like fit, providing your feet with an exceptional supply of airflow to keep feet cool while ensuring feet are comfortable and encased. The shoes provide a flexible feel with support in key areas, and perforation to provide a constant supply of fresh air for your feet to thrive. A textile lining has also been used on the upper to increase comfort, the lining sits comfortably against the skin and reduces the risks of chafing and irritation from ruining your run. Completing the upper is a lace closure system that secures the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Made with at least 50% recycled materials in the upper, this product represents just one of adidas' solutions to help end plastic waste.
Lightstrike Midsole
adidas' updated Lightstrike 2.0 EVA technology has been embedded into the Adizero Boston 12 for more durable cushioning. The Lightstrike compound provides endless energy return from the heel strike to the toe-off phase of the gait cycle. When your heel hits the floor, the midsole compresses and stores kinetic energy; as you transition through to mid-stance, the midsole relaxes and releases the stored energy, which propels you forward with an explosive take-off. As well as this, the midsole also features Lightstrike Pro cushioning which spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces whilst propelling you forward to provide you with explosive movement and enduring speed. The light and springy ride supports your feet through the gait cycle whilst remaining lightweight to ensure you can reach new PBs. The Boston 12 also has a newly updated glass-fibre-infused ENERGYRODS 2.0 technology which is a holistic system designed for a seamless transition from heel to toe, bringing race-day performance to high-speed training runs.
