Textile Upper
The upper is a textile for ultimate breathability. This fabric allows heat and vapour to escape, whilst simultaneously encouraging fresh air to flow in and circulate for a pleasant cooling sensation. The intuitive lacing system on these adidas tennis shoes locks you in by pulling down the tongue to match your foot shape. The laces are connected to internal webbing so when you tighten them, the tongue perfectly moulds to the shape of your midfoot, giving you increased support and control, as well as that locked-in feel. A Geofit system in the heel fills the remaining gaps to complete the connection, helping the shoes to become an extension of your body that can respond in the same time you do. 50% of the upper is made with recycled content, with no virgin Polyester, representing one of adidas' solutions to help end plastic waste, meaning not only do these shoes look and feel good, but they are better for the planet too.
Bounce Midsole with TPU Shank
Featuring a full-length Bounce cushion midsole, the adidas Barricade Tennis Shoes provide a fast, bouncy and comfortable ride. The midsole is constructed using active elastic cells that cushion the foot when it lands and returns energy upon take-off - making the shoe feel "bouncy" and propelling you forward so you can cut any move with ease. This means that no matter how long your match lasts, you will always enjoy the same soft feel underfoot. With every step you take, energy is produced through the flexing of the sole and impact with the ground. This energy is transformed by the reactive material into rebound, which will give you an added spring for that extra boost.
