Part Recycled Engineered Mesh Upper
Providing you with a comfortable layer of protection, the Adizero SL Running Shoes have a lightweight mesh upper construction made from at least 50% part recycled materials. The mesh fabrics ensure that the shoes have a sock-like fit, which provides your feet with an exceptional flow of air to keep feet cool, whilst still ensuring feet are comfortable and encased. The shoes provide you with a flexible feel with support in key areas, and perforation to provide a constant supply of fresh air for your feet to thrive. A textile lining has also been used on the upper to increase comfort, the lining sits comfortably against the skin and reduces the risks of chafing and irritation from ruining your run. Increasing the comfort of the shoe adidas has used a padded heel and tongue construction, keeping your feet secure and comfortable with every stride. Completing the upper is a lace closure system that secures the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free runs.
Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro Midsole
adidas' signature Lightstrike EVA technology has been embedded into the Adizero SL Shoes. The Lightstrike foam compound provides endless energy return from heel strike through to the toe-off phase of the gait cycle. It features hundreds of visible energy capsules that store and unleash endless energy every time your foot hits the ground, meaning that every step is charged. When your heel hits the floor, the midsole compresses and stores kinetic energy; as you transition through to mid-stance, the midsole relaxes and releases the stored energy, which propels you forward with an explosive take-off. As well as this, the midsole also features Lightstrike Pro cushioning which spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces whilst also propelling you forward to provide you with explosive movement and enduring speed. The light and springy ride supports your feet through the gait cycle whilst remaining as lightweight as possible to ensure you can reach new PBs.
Rubber Outsole
Manufactured from durable rubber, the outsole completes the Adizero SL Shoes with superior grip and a smooth transition through the gait cycle. The sole has grooves throughout to allow the shoe to stretch and flex providing a stronger grip with the ground below. The rubber outsole supplies traction on wet and dry surfaces, giving you no excuse not to get out and run. Finally, the outsole is designed to be just as durable as the Lightstrike midsole, leaving you with a resilient, cushioned and grippy running shoe.
