adidas Strung Upper
Constructed using Adidas's Strung technology, the upper of the Adizero Prime X provides an abundance of flexibility, breathability and support. STRUNG is a textile innovation that transforms athlete data into a dynamic material tuned to your needs. It makes it possible to map and program different fiber properties thread by thread. The upper has been designed to feel like a flexible and lightweight, seamless cocoon around the foot, to help optimise your comfort, and support you with every stride taken. The perforations within the fabric allow cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape. The mesh acts as a lightweight second skin, providing a supportive and comfortable fit. Its construction creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in, letting your feet breathe when the temperature starts to rise or your training session heats up. Ensuring a lightweight, locked-in feel the upper has been constructed using light and thin materials which provide minimal weight and maximum performance. The heel has been fitted with Slinglaunch heel designed to keep the foot tightly locked in through anti-slip lockdown; from the first to the last stride, along with other internal reinforcements to provide added structure and support. The reinforcements lock your foot into place for added stability on race day. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Lightstrike Pro Midsole
Designed to provide complete comfort from the moment you put them on till the moment you take them off, the adidas Adizero Prime X Running Shoes have been constructed using 3 layers of Lightstrike Cushioning. Lightstrike cushioning spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces whilst also propelling you forward to provide you with explosive movement and enduring speed. The light and springy ride supports your feet through the gait cycle whilst remaining as lightweight as possible to ensure you can reach new PB's. Working in tandem with Lightstrike cushioning is a boost foam wedge that is embedded into the heel. The boost foam compound provides endless energy return from heel strike through to the toe-off phase of the gait cycle. It features hundreds of visible energy capsules that store and unleash endless energy every time your foot hits the ground, meaning that every step is charged. When your heel hits the floor, the boost particles compress and store kinetic energy; as you transition through to mid-stance, the boost particles relax and release their stored energy, which propels you forward with an explosive take-off. Completing the midsole is a carbon plate that works to provide a smooth transition during the gait cycle. The plate works with ENERGYRODS technology which supports your foot as you run and propels you forward to give you an extra spring in your step.
