Performance Mesh Waterproof Upper
A performance mesh upper, on the WK450 will allow air to flow in and out constantly, which means that you won't have a build-up of unwanted and uncomfortable air within the shoes that is unable to escape. Having a shoe that regularly pumps air out and allows fresher air in, ensures that you will always feel comfortable. A padded tongue and cuff feature on the upper and work with the contoured fit for optimal comfort and a traditional lacing system helps to lock the midfoot down to reduce excessive movement. An Eco Anti-Odour treatment resides in the upper to prevent the growth of odour-causing microbes to keep the shoes fresher for longer. KEEN.DRY technology completes the upper, protecting you from adverse weather whilst encouraging breathability.
EVA Midsole
Constructed using an EVA midsole, the WK450 provides comfortable cushioning that keeps you going all day long. The dual-density EVA provides significant cushioning and comfort to help improve the level of your performance so you can stay at your optimum level, for longer. Holding excellent cushioning abilities, the midsole absorbs shocks as you move throughout the gait cycle providing resilient cushioning and reducing the risks of potential injury. A removable PU insole also features within the midsole to provide added cushioning and support. The insole sits comfortably under the foot and can be easily removed if you'd prefer not to use it. A full-length Nylon plate has been added for extra stability on uneven surfaces and completing the midsole is a foam Strobel board for an extra layer of cushioning.
Keen.All-Terrain Outsole
Providing ultimate, all-around protection, the WK450 features a Keen.All-Terrain rubber outsole. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable meaning no matter what you throw at it, the shoe will perform time and time again. This high-traction rubber promotes grip on a multitude of surfaces while delivering the durability you need to go the distance. Completing the outsole are 4mm multi-directional lugs which provide meaningful traction on tough terrain. The lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction. Lastly, KEEN.CURVE provides a constant curve from toe to heel for nonstop propulsion.
