A lace-up version of our revolutionary Drago, the fine-tuned Chimera features the same handcrafted, rubber-wrapped forefoot, aggressively downturned profile and asymmetrical shape with high-level adjustability that suits lower-volume feet.
Durable Upper
Constructed using a robust, durable upper, the Scarpa Chimera Climbing Shoes are worthy of any outdoor adventure. Designed to provide the right amount of flexibility and support, the upper conforms to the shape of the foot yet, retains its elasticity for a better, more supportive fit. The upper ensures the shoes hold their shape for longer plus, it's soft on the skin for complete comfort. A seamless toe panel wraps around the forefoot to provide durability and support. The medial toe rubber protects your feet against knocks and scrapes plus, the integrated heel cup secure the heel to reduce slippage and ensure an optimum fit. Completing the upper of the Chimera Climbing Shoes is a lace-up system which ensures a locked-down fit for added midfoot support.
TPS Midsole
The midsole of the Scarpa Chimera Climbing Shoes features a TPS plastic insert which is positioned under the forefoot to provide added support. The insert ensures better support for the toes when pushing down hard, improves pulling capabilities and increase precision so you can truly perform to your best potential. When smearing, the TPS becomes extended so that it does not constrain movement and in doing so it helps to increase the area of the sole in contact with the rock to provide you with even more grip. A power connection band has been used to transfer power from the toe to the heel allowing for a dynamic fit that combines power and sensitivity. The Chimera is aggressively downturned to allow your feet to form a position that's best for advanced climbing.
Vibram Outsole
Develeoped using a Vibram XS Grip 2 Outsole, the Scarpa Chimera Climbing Shoes ensure maximum support whether you're outdoor, indoor or lead climbing. This specialist outsole allows you to focus your weight on the tiniest of holds and keeps its shape in tough conditions. The XS grip 2 improves on the superior grip characteristics of XS Grip and delivers outstanding precision, support and stability for outstanding grip in every condition. A truly robust outsole, the XS Grip 2 can endure repeated abuse in hot and cold weather conditions giving you a shoe that can truly perform in all weather conditions. The rigid nature of the outsole supports you during any climb by adapting to the ground below you and bearing your weight as you move from rock type to rock type. The superior rigidness of this shoe is counterbalanced by adaptability and sensitivity.
