Breathable Gaiter Upper
Designed with the task of keeping you protected the Winter Cross Spike Shoes from Salomon have been created with a protective gaiter making them a durable winter companion. The gaiter works to protect the foot from debris and efficiently prevent it from being trapped between your foot and the footbed, keeping you comfortable at all times. The gaiter is kept in place thanks to a press stud fastening to the ankle, this can also be opened by the zip to the side of the foot. Not only this but the construction of the gaiter allows you to remain cool by supplying your feet with an optimum level of airflow so you're bound to feel fresh throughout your run. The shoes utilise Salomon's Sensifit design, the shoes have a clever construction to provide you with a precise, optimal foothold so you stay in complete comfort as you run. Completing the upper of the Winter Cross Spike Shoe is the Quicklace closure, making it exceptionally easy for you to tighten or loosen the shoes and providing you with the iconic Salomon lace-up design that we all know and love.
Energy Foam Midsole
Teamed with the lightweight upper, Salomon's lightest-ever midsole makes sure the shoes do not weigh you down on your trail runs. Salomon has included their Energy Foam into the midsole of the shoe, this is a responsive foam created by a combination of EVA and Olefin (OBC) to deliver long-lasting cushion and bouncy energy return. Combined with the energy midsole is an OrthoLite insole which provides superior cushioning, unprecedented comfort and durability. Not only this but the insole is also breathable and wicking, helping to remove unwanted heat and excess moisture so your feet can stay cool, dry and comfortable.Winter Contragrip Outsole
The Winter Cross Spike Shoes have the ultra-grippy Contragrip outsole, providing you with an unmatched level of grip and traction. This compound means the shoes will not only form a solid grip between the shoe and the terrain but will work to shed mud quickly. This is due to their large lugs, therefore providing you with the perfect level of grip on all types of terrain, including wet and muddy conditions thanks to their deep lugs, which dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking the next stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking or changing direction. Enhancing the grip further when out in snow and ice, Salomon has included Carbide spikes to provide additional grip when walking in soft, compact snow and ice.
