Woven Mesh Upper
The Pegasus Trail 5s utilise a mesh upper to ensure your feet remain extremely cool and comfortable on your next trail running adventure. Strategically placed perforations provide feet with a constant supply of airflow working to provide you with a cool, fresh experience, whilst tighter woven fabrics in the higher wearing areas of the shoes provide you with durability, protecting the shoes from damage. Moisture-wicking properties prevent feet from becoming uncomfortable, reducing a build-up of sweat and moisture, and keeping feet cool and fresh. Additionally, the shoes utilise a traditional lace-up construction to provide a locked-in, secure fit, reducing in-shoe slipping from occurring. Working alongside this is Nike's Flywire technology, which provides you with enhanced support, and helps to secure your midfoot. Completing the uppers are reflective details, to help enhance your visibility during low-light running adventures.
ReactX Midsole
Providing you with high levels of energy return, yet with a lowered carbon footprint, the ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 utilises a ReactX midsole. With outstanding cushioning and optimised comfort, the ReactX are a soft, lightweight and durable foam, so you can cushion every stride to improve speed and performance. The foam reduces the carbon footprint of the midsole by around 43% compared to the previous React foam included in the Pegasus Trail 4s, therefore helping to support the planet. The foam has excellent energy return properties, to propel you forwards on your run, keeping you comfortable underfoot and sparing your joints as you strike down on changing terrain. Not only this, but the technology reduces the use of superfluous muscle power to diminish fatigue and enhance performance, keeping you going for longer.
Nike Trail ATC Outsole
The 5th generation of the Pegasus Trails utilises less rubber along the outsole, to provide you with a smoother transition from road to trail while preserving the ReactX midsole. This is present in the Nike Trail ATC outsole compound, providing you with high-abrasive comfort on an array of surfaces. Excellent grip and traction are provided on the varying surfaces of your trail running adventures, whilst the rubber wraps around the front of the shoes for optimising the durability of the shoes, keeping you confident and ready to tackle whatever the trail throws at you. The outsole has a generative traction pattern which is combined with the rubber in the forefoot, to provide optimum grip for the technical trails, whilst also maintaining a smooth ride for the road.
