Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEX Women's Trail Running Shoes
The winterized Pegasus Trail 5 provides wet-weather protection for trail running. A waterproof GORE-TEX upper, an all-terrain outsole and reflective design details throughout help you comfortably take on the elements. Combined with an Air Zoom unit and a ReactX foam midsole, it gives you responsive cushioning for an energised ride. This special design sends you to the South Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon, as part of Nike's ongoing #IYKYK series.
GORE-TEX Upper
Providing your feet with a constant supply of airflow and exceptional waterproof protection, the Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEX Trail Shoes utilise a breathable GORE-TEX upper. The GORE-TEX materials provide you with optimum protection on the trails by keeping your feet protected from rain and moisture in poor, changing weather, including snowy conditions. These materials are highly breathable to stop feet from overheating, as well as moisture-wicking properties to prevent the build-up of sweat and moisture, this combination of materials provides your feet with a cool, comfortable wearing experience. The 3D-printed toe enhances the shoes' durability and provides you with support in high-wear areas whilst helping to keep your socks warm and dry. Additionally, the shoes have a sturdy, high ankle cuff helping to keep the debris and trail rubble from entering and ensuring feet remain warm and cosy when traversing colder climates. Reflective details enhance your visibility when out in low-light conditions. Finally, the shoes have a traditional lace-up to reduce in-shoe slipping, keeping feet secure within the shoes to keep you confident on the trails.
ReactX Midsole
Providing you with high levels of energy return, yet with a lowered carbon footprint, the ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEX utilises a ReactX midsole. For outstanding cushioning and optimised comfort, the ReactX are a soft, lightweight and durable foam, so you can cushion every stride to improve speed and performance. Propelling you forward on your trail run, the midsole has outstanding energy return, keeping you comfortable on the changing terrains, and helping to reduce fatigue whilst enhancing performance. Not only does the midsole reduce fatigue and enhance performance, but it also minimises unnecessary muscle strain, allowing you to work for longer periods. The foam reduces the carbon footprint of the midsole by around 43% compared to the previous React foam included in the Pegasus Trail 4s, therefore helping to support the planet.
Nike Trail ATC Outsole
The ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEXs have a Nike Trail ATC Outsole, to make them a perfect road and trail running companion. The versatile outsole ensures you have outstanding grip and traction on a variety of surfaces, including in wet or dry weather, whilst wrapping around the front of the shoes to optimise the durability and longevity of the shoes, keeping you confident on the trail. Utilising a generative traction pattern, the shoes have an optimised grip when traversing the more technical trail runs, however also maintain a smooth ride when running on road conditions.
