Mesh and TPU Upper
Providing you exceptional breathability and high levels of durability, the MTL Skyfire OCR Tough Viking has a mesh and TPU upper. The mesh materials work to keep your feet cool and comfortable, by allowing a constant supply of airflow to travel through the shoes, ensuring a fresh sensation from start to finish. Additionally, the materials are moisture-wicking to prevent a build-up of sweat and moisture, for cool, fresh and dry feet, even during the more intense periods of your trail running endeavours. Alongside this, TPU materials enhance durability in areas that are high-wearing, for enhanced longevity and long-lasting reliability. This combination of materials has tear-resistant properties to reduce damage from bumps and scrapes when on tricky trails. Reflective details enhance your visibility when out in low-light conditions. The shoes have a lace-up closure that provides you with a locked-in secure fit and prevents in-shoe slipping from occurring. Alongside this, the shoes have an external rear sling, which locks down the heel, to help with keeping the foot secure in the shoes.
EVA Midsole
Featuring a lightweight EVA midsole, the MTL Skyfire OCR Tough Viking provides excellent underfoot cushioning, and outstanding comfort for an exceptional trail running experience. To keep feet comfortable and soft when traversing the changing trails, the EVA midsole adds cushioning underfoot, providing you with a soft, bouncy landing base, for distraction-free running. Alongside energy return, the foam provides great shock-absorbing properties, to help reduce the strain or injury when striking down onto tough trail surfaces, by absorbing the impact with each step. Not only this, but the midsole helps to add stability, making it great for tricky trail running adventures. A removable EVA insole also features above this, to add extra levels of cushioning. Helping to provide a locked-in fit, the shoes have an internal bootie, keeping you super comfortable on the trail, whilst a rock plate protects feet from knocks and bumps on rocks, and protects the shoes from damage.

The MTL Skyfire is equipped with a Merrell mountain-grade Quantum Grip rubber outsole, providing exceptional grip and protection on rocky trails.
