Salewa Mountain Trainer Lite GORE-TEX Walking Boots
Engineered for moving faster and lighter on all terrain, the Mountain Trainer Lite Mid also performs well on rock. Its highly wear-resistant, but lightweight, TPU-coated fabric upper has suede inserts for stability and is coupled with GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining for durable waterproof protection without sacrificing breathable comfort.
TPU Upper
Designed to provide lightweight comfort and protection, the upper of the Salewa Mountain Trainer Lite has been constructed using a TPU-coated upper. The TPU provides increased durability so you can continue with complete confidence. As well as this, suede leather inserts keep the feet protected from debris and sharp objects as well as minimise the risks of wear and tear. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining resides in the upper, supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. The boots use Salewa's 3F System to further improve the fit. This system will improve the flexibility of the upper, which also provides support and a blister-free fit, which will dramatically improve the experience of wearing the boots, removing irritations and distractions that come with an uncomfortable fit. Long round shoelaces run from the toes to the ankle and can secure a tight fit when ascending, whilst can be loosened for improved comfort when descending. The heel stabiliser provides a secure and supportive fit whilst the rubber toe cap protects the feet from knocks and bangs. Completing the upper is the flexible ankle cuff that sits comfortably against the skin for all-day wear.
EVA Midsole
A full-length platform of EVA resides in the midsole for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced from this will also be returned as a rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for unpredictable trails and tough terrain.
Pomoca outsole
Designed to provide traction and grip on uneven terrain, the Mountain Trainer Lite has been constructed using a POMOCA outsole. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. The POMOCA Butylic compound rubber provides a better grip on rock in both dry and wet conditions, while the aggressive tread lugs offer improved traction on mud and softer terrain. Not only this, but the S-path technology of the outsole encourages a more natural roll-off.
