This Mountain Equipment K7 Down Jacket has been created using a DRILITE Loft 30D outer fabric that is totally windproof and highly water resistant, protecting you from windchill as well as light showers. The Drilite Loft 30D (also known as Drilite Loft II) is Mountain Equipment's most durable iteration of Drilite. It is the ideal fabric for clothing and sleeping bags destined for serious mountaineering, climbing and backpacking in difficult conditions. Weighing 55g/m2 and with its 1500mm hydrostatic head it is ideal for protecting high quality down and synthetic insulations. Keeping you warm when the temperature drops, is a 90/10 800 fill power, goose down filling, providing you with a great warmth-to-weight ratio. The high loft material works by trapping body heat inside tiny pockets of air, providing warmth even when no longer active. The jacket features a box-wall construction throughout, this is the warmest baffle construction as it allows the down to loft more, effectively trapping in more heat and increasing warmth. The construction, results in fewer cold spots in the jacket. The horizontal compartments are designed to hold the down in place around the body and maximize the performance of the jacket. Enhancing the weather protection of the jacket is a full dome HC hood with DRILITE Loft 30D, keeping you warm and dry whilst adjustable cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords trap in the heat. A two-way YKK moulded centre front zip with offset insulated rear baffle allows for easy on and off, this also provides ventilation when zipped down and traps heat when fully up. Finishing the K7 jacket are two zipped hand warmer pockets, a chest pocket, an inner mesh water bottle pocket and a large zipped mesh inner pocket, providing you with plenty of space to store your essential items when on the move.
