Jacquard Mesh Upper
Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Merrell Rubato Trail Running Shoes have been constructed using a jacquard mesh and TPU upper. The jacquard upper works to provide lightweight breathability and protection to keep your feet safe on rocky terrains. Acting as a lightweight second skin the mesh ensures you are able to go the distance in complete comfort. Perforations in the fabric encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in. TPU overlays have been strategically placed on the upper to provide durability and support where it's needed the most. The reinforcements wrap the foot in lightweight support to promote a secure fit that resists the risks of wear and tear. The inner liner sits comfortably against the skin to reduce the risks of chafing and irritation whilst an outer strap on the heel works to keep the heel in place at all times. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
FloatPro Foam Midsole
Within the midsole Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light, durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down. The lightweight midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. As well as this, Merrell's signature FlexConnect technology has been used within the midsole to ensure enhanced ground connection. FlexConnects dual-directional flex grooves ensure a secure fit as well as a natural and serious grip to deliver agility and stability on any terrain. Completing the midsole is a removable outsole that offers better cushioning, durability and increased breathability underfoot. The soft foam cushions your feet over long distances and increases ventilation to keep you cool when temperatures rise.
Vibram Megagrip
Developed using a Vibram Megagrip outsole, the Rubato provides extreme grip and traction for all surface wear. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the extremely durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip the outsole ensures traction on varied terrain ensuring confident footing on varied terrain. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole are lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs are able to anchor the foot into the wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst also forming a solid base to push off from.
