GORE-TEX Upper
The Merrell Antora 2 GORE-TEX Women's Trail Running Shoe is constructed using a mesh and TPU upper and with a breathable mesh lining; the mesh allows air to fully permeate the upper providing a supply of cool, fresh air whilst simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air that resides in the shoe during heavy exertion. The bonded InvisibleFit constructed upper offers lightweight, breathable protection that fits and feels like an unprotected shoe, for full protection whilst out on the trail without compromising quick footing. Engineered with a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane, the Antora GORE-TEX offers complete waterproof performance and exceptional breathability; step confidently and comfortably through wet and muddy terrain as the GORE-TEX membrane allows water vapour to escape without letting water droplets in. A breathable mesh lining works with M-Select FRESH antimicrobial agents to keep you feeling cooler and fresher for longer; the antimicrobial agents reside in the shoe lining and materials preventing sweat and moisture from affecting the freshness of your shoe by penetrating and disrupting the reproduction of the odour-causing microbes in your shoes. The hyperlock TPU Film Heel Counter combined with the traditional lace closure system provides a secure fit locking the foot into the shoe and anchoring to the midsole to reduce in-shoe slippage for quick descents and sharp turns.
Q Form 2 Midsole
Specfically engineered for the way women move, Antora 2 GORE-TEX offers a Q FORM 2 midsole; the technology is gender engineered to provide natural alignment and superior comfort. The dual-density foam midsole is sequenced into quadrants to guide the foot promoting a comfortable, efficient stride on the trail. Heel-centering technology compresses on heel strike, creating a pronounced heel cup that ensures the heel is kept centred and the foot is stabilized, whilst absorbing shock to reduce fatigue. The EVA removable insole and compression moulded EVA midsole provide exceptional stability and comfort, whilst offering the opportunity to insert different insoles for the optimum fit depending on your needs. The compression moulded EVA midsole provides stability, agility, and comfort, supporting the natural motion of the foot and providing comfort through the gait cycle and ultimately reducing those harmful shock and impact forces. Finished with the moulded nylon arch shank to provide a supportive structure that resides between the insole and the outsole; diminishing the load incurred on your feet and calves over the course of your adventure the moulded nylon arch shank helps to reduce fatigue
