Matryx Micro Upper
Extremely breathable and super comfortable, the Kjerag Brut features a durable Matryx Micro upper. The micro-opening woven technology is super breathable to keep feet fresh and cool across tough, changing trail conditions. Prevent feet from overheating the materials allow a constant supply of cool air to travel through the structure of the upper, to prevent you from becoming too hot or uncomfortable. Matryx Micro is also thin, and non-absorbing for dry feet, and with excellent water drainage, water build-up is prevented during wet and soggy trail running endeavours. This lightweight upper has durable properties to keep feet and shoes well-protected from knocks, bumps and scrapes on the trail. The TPU toe protector further assists in keeping toes shielded from bashes when traversing bumpy terrains, keeping you confident and secure in your footwear. An ergonomic heel collar is extremely lightweight and keeps feet comfortable and secure, whilst a neoprene tongue is fully hydrophobic to prevent water entering and improve breathability and foothold. The lace-up system allows you to get the perfect fit, preventing in-shoe slipping and keeping you secure on long trail running adventures. Completing the look and stylising the shoes with an iconic feel, the shoes have been manually stained to symbolise the fun and embrace the beauty of the Kjerag Brut. This pattern mirrors rugged terrains and emulates mountainous landscapes, reflecting stains and patterns left by the wild and symbolising the beauty of the material used. Manual staining embraces the idea that true beauty and performance are not primitive, but achieved through experiences, trials and expertise.
EExpure Midsole
Constructed using NNormal's EExpure midsole instead of your average EVA compound, the Kjerag Brut provides highly energetic, bouncy strides and an enjoyable trail running experience. The CO2-heated foam creates a unique type of foam, that provides high rebound and energy return, preventing fatigue and allowing you to stay focused on top of your game. This lightweight foam keeps you light on your feet and prepared for whatever the trail throws at you next. Working with this, a 2mm EVA strobel board adds an extra step in softness, improving cushioning and providing optimum comfort across all journeys.
Vibram Litebase Megagrip Outsole
Step into the mess, embrace the elements and turn each route into a distant adventure with the Kjerag Brut. Meaning "dirty", the Brut is specially designed for soft, vertical and loose terrains with the ability to perform in the toughest environments where conditions become unpredictable or terrains suddenly change in texture. Perfect for British conditions, the Kjerag Brut utilises a Litebase Megagrip combination, which makes it the lightest and most durable Vibram compound available, for optimum grip and traction across varying conditions and on an array of surfaces. The durable outsole provides the stability you need when traversing trickier periods of your trail and provides excellent ground adaptability. Adorning the outsole of the trail running shoes, are 6.5mm lugs, for digging deep on often slippery, wet and muddy trail conditions, providing you with the grip you need to remain stable and secure. The shoes feature a 1mm rock and lug layer protection for preventing damage from rocks and stopping them from getting jammed in your shoes.
Tested in one of the best trail running races in the world, Killian Jornet and Elhousine Elazzaoui wore the Brut outsole at Zegama 2024 to demonstrate its strength on one of the most demanding circuits.
