Inov8 Shoe Fit Scale
For technical footwear, a good fit is essential to enhance your performance. Inov8's new Shoe Fit Scale makes it easier to find the perfect fitting shoe. All Inov8 shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock down the mid-foot for a stable hold, where they differ is in the toe box. The shoes are now graded from 1 to 5, Grade 1 representing their closest, most precise fit and Grade 5 representing the widest fitting toe box.
The lower the number on the scale, the narrower the fit, which ensures minimal internal movement of the foot when running fast on technical terrain. Shoes with the higher numbers on the scale will suit athletes with a wider foot and those wanting that extra comfort in the toe box. This wider toe box allows the toes to splay for increased stability when lifting heavy weights. It's also perfect for longer runs and races when toes begin to swell.
Inov8 have graded the Trailfly G 270 V2 as Grade 5.
Durable Upper
Featuring a new main mesh material in the upper, the Trailfly G 270 V2 is more durable than before. It has been proven in laboratory testing to be 25% more durable than that of the V1, whilst maintaining its light weight and exceptional flexibility. The durable mesh, alongside the super-tough Graphene rubber outsole, helps you to get the most out of your shoe. The mesh provided in the upper will allow for your feet optimal airflow in, and out of the shoes, by allowing warm air to escape, and cool air to enter, curating the perfect microclimate for your feet. This will work constantly over a long period of time, keeping you feeling cool and comfortable over long miles. The upper is also designed to provide the foot with complete protection from any bumps or knocks. Four overlay strips on both sides of the upper help to provide support and strong hold for the foot. These overlays have been repositioned further back to allow greater unrestricted stretch and breathability across the forefoot. A wide toe-box allows you to remain comfortable. Finally, a new form-fitting tongue features improved padding to create a better hold in the midfoot whilst also giving extra cushioning and comfort for the top of the foot, as well as, a more secure fit that helps reduce the risk of in-shoe slippage.
Powerflow Max Midsole
The midsole of the Trailfly G270 V2s is constructed from Powerflow Max foam, which provides you with ultimate comfort. The midsole foam technology delivers you with a greater bounce as well as, exceptional energy return. Not only this, but the material offers excellent durability and shape retention for the perfect cushioned fit. Additionally, a Boomerang insole is made from expanded Thermo Polyurethane balls which work to compress and spring back for 40% more energy return than any previous insoles. The effective cushioning of the midsole will mean that joints like the knees and ankles will have reduced impact, preventing injuries and fatigue from occurring. Shocks are also absorbed instantly and effectively, reducing the risk of injuries from heavy or sharp impacts against the sole of the foot.
Graphene Outsole
Featuring a Graphene-Grip rubber outsole, this delivers the ultimate in control and traction on the world's toughest trails. The Graphene is able to form an extremely strong grip with a wide range of different surfaces, guaranteeing complete control on uncertain terrain. Naturally tough in its nature, the outsole will maintain its shape and definition over a long period of time. By being so tough, the outsole will remain functional and effective over both the long run and over time. The detailed 4mm lug construction and design will further anchor the feet in place, keeping you feeling secure and ensuring a solid and strong base to push on from take-offs, providing confidence on landings and control when changing directions.
