Nubuck Leather Upper
To ensure feet remain dry and protected during your long adventures in changing weather conditions, the Elixir GORE-TEX Boots utilise a nubuck leather upper. The leather is extremely tough and durable to keep you protected when on the trails whilst offering your feet plenty of support. The GORE-TEX membrane is exceptionally waterproof, to prevent water from seeping through, therefore preventing feet from becoming uncomfortable and wet. The boots utilise Salomon's SensiFit construction to provide you with a strong, precise foothold, meaning in-boot slipping is prevented, and your feet remain comfortable. The boots feature a gusseted tongue, preventing debris from entering the shoe, and keeping the tongue centered. This will also prevent irritation from being caused, whilst a traditional lacing system further reduces in-boot slipping, and keeps feet secure. The upper also features heel pull tabs which assist in putting the boots on and off and lastly, a protective toecap protects against rocks and uneven surfaces.
energyFOAM Midsole
The midsole of the Elixir utilises energyFOAM technology to offer a high rebound for exceptional energy return with every step. Compromised of Salomon's softest EVA compounds and engineered using fewer artificial polymers, the midsole delivers a more earth-conscious, smooth yet dynamic stride. Active Chassis also resides in the midsole which offers lateral support and guidance on uneven surfaces. Completing the midsole is a recycled moulded EVA sockliner to provide optimal in-step comfort.
Contagrip Outsole
Ensuring long-lasting grip, the outsole has been engineered using All Terrain Contagrip. The outsole utilises an all-surface rubber compound and a Reverse Camber lug pattern, for a confident grip on both wet and dry surfaces. The rubber offers premium traction on loose terrain, ensuring a solid bond between you and the ground. The rubber used is also abrasion-resistant which will prevent any damage from occurring over a long period exposed to hard ground. The outsole compound offers a higher density of rubber in high-impact areas where the most wear occurs to help reduce the wear and tear.
