Hoka Cielo FLYX Running Spikes
When it comes to cushioning, Hoka has prescribed a very strict, "more is more" policy. Built to the maximum World Athletics standards, the Cielo FLYX breaks the mould with 25mm of bouncy, high-resiliency PEBA foam.
Engineered Mesh Upper
The upper of the Hoka Cielo FLYX has been created with a lightweight and breathable mesh upper. The upper allows air to circulate whilst simultaneously releasing hot, muggy air at the same time, leaving your feet cool, dry and comfortable. A thin, breathable performance tongue has been included to reduce pressure on top of the foot and provide next-to-skin comfort. A deconstructed collar with a microfibre edge increases comfort and reduces rubbing and irritation when you run. The combination of the materials used in the upper reduces the bulk for a lightweight feel when on the track. Finishing off the upper is a traditional lacing system that locks the midfoot down and reduces in-shoe movement for distraction-free strides.
PEBA Midsole
Hoka has utilised a full-length PEBA foam unit to create the midsole. The foam has the perfect amount of cushioning for anything from 1500 metres to 10K and every distance in between. The foam is lightweight and springy providing you with high energy return and responsiveness, helping you to spring into each step, pushing you to hit those PBs. Not only does this push you forward for quicker times but it also absorbs shocks and negative impacts as you strike the track, by doing so this reduces stress on the joints and the risk of injury. An aggressive rocker profile completes the midsole, applied to increase running efficiency. Meta-Rocker midsole geometry is specifically designed with a low heel-toe differential and a sculpted outsole to create a unique fulcrum effect, like a rocking chair to encourage a guided gait cycle.
Six Spike Composite Plate
Hoka has employed a composite plate that doubles as both a midsole propulsion plate and an outsole spike plate, by doing so they have been able to reduce the weight of the spike for a faster feel. The plate provides a snappy, propulsive sensation that pushes you forward with each step increasing your speed as you run. Not only this but it's designed to increase energy return providing you with a boost so you can run further for longer. Strategically placed spikes will enable you to run comfortably and confidently, knowing you have the stability to push yourself to the limit, the spikes are ideal for long distances and highly durable and long-lasting to provide optimal grip and traction on the track.
