Mesh Upper
Mesh uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. Lightweight and highly breathable for all-temperature comfort, the mesh acts as a lightweight second skin, providing a supportive and comfortable fit. Designed with a perforated construction air is able to fully permeate the upper, letting your feet breathe when the temperature starts to rise or your training session heats up. The upper is tightened and loosened in certain areas to allow for the foot's natural motion, working with you as you train for everything from morning runs to challenging marathons. The asymmetrical lacing system provides the perfect comfort and fit, especially in the ankle and heel area; it helps to anchor you to the midsole and reduce in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth distraction-free strides.
FlyteFoam Midsole
The midsole of the Gel-Superion 4 Running Shoes has been constructed using a combination of FlyteFoam and FlyteFoam Propel which provides the perfect balance of lightweight and rebound properties. These layers of protection, bounce, and comfort provide you with unmatched shock absorption and a lively ride. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently and for longer without the worry that your shoes might not be able to take it. FlyteFoam Propel works to reduce shock during the impact phase, sparing your joints as you sprint down onto hard, unforgiving concrete allowing for a smooth transition to mid-stance. Also incorporated into the midsole is a DUOMAX support system on the midsole's medial side helping to improve stability.
AHARPLUS Outsole
Supreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the AHARPLUS outsole. ASICS' High Abrasion Rubber is a tough rubber compound used in heavy-contact or high-wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. The high abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath it, the outsole allows you to stay in full control at all times. This exceptionally durable compound is 50% more durable than standard ASICS High Abrasion Rubber.
