Leather Upper
The upper of the ASICS Gel-Odyssey Walking Shoes is constructed from a fibre leather upper which is super comfortable, water-resistant and extremely breathable. The upper provides superb breathable comfort and provides a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air that resides during intense exercise. Not only is the upper of the shoe water resistant but this has been combined with a waterproof Walotex lining that keeps the foot dry while providing breathability. Designed with Flexion Fit the walking shoe is engineered to be more comfortable and offers superior support through a form-fitting upper that responds to your every move. Additionally, traditional lacing is added for secure comfort during your walk. The lacing coincides with the leather and helps to provide a nice wrapped-around and locked-in fit, preventing any in-shoe slipping from occurring. A mesh tongue and collar enhance breathability further as well as aiding next-to-foot comfort, while an internal moulded heel counter locks the heel in place providing a better fit. A stitch-down reinforced toe cap is added to the upper to provide sufficient, durable protection to the toes from trail hazards during walking or trekking.
Gel Cushioning Midsole
The midsole has a variety of features that make this shoe the perfect walking shoe for everyday trails. A gel-cushioning system sits within the midsole and attenuates shock and impact forces from causing damage to the joints and soft tissues in the body. As you impact the body can receive up to 5x its own weight in shock forces therefore, your joints and muscles need a little help, this is where the gel comes in providing a comfortable and cushioned landing with every step. Coupled with a SpEVA foam midsole, a material designed to offer shock attenuation, improve bounce back and improve durability, you can be confident that the ASICS Gel-Odyssey walking shoe will enhance your performance with every stride. Providing support Asics have included an extended DuoMax Medial Post that shores the midfoot on uneven terrain keeping you in control at all times. Finished with an Ortholite X-40 Sockliner, this premium sockliner features higher rebound properties while providing excellent moisture management and a high level of breathability.
AHAR Outsole
Solid AHAR outsole provides durability and abrasion resistance to the rubber outsole; using materials used for car tires as the main material for the outer sole and mixing it with a reinforcing material this shoe is made to be put through the paces.
