Merrell Agility Peak 5 GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoes
Building on the success of one of Merrell's most popular trail running shoes, the Agility Peak 5 has been updated to this already successful trail runner. In this latest version, the rocker is increased, the weight is reduced to 300g, and the heel cup is sculpted for better on-foot comfort and less slip.
Engineered Mesh Upper
Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Merrell Agility Peak 5 have been constructed using an engineered mesh upper. The mesh upper provides lightweight breathability and protection to keep your feet safe on rocky terrains. The mesh ensures you can go the distance comfortably as it acts as a lightweight second skin keeping you comfortable throughout use. Perforations in the fabric encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in. A GORE-TEX membrane has been added which provides optimal, waterproof protection to keep your feet dry whilst remaining breathable. The breathable mesh lining sits comfortably against the skin and further enhances breathability. The mesh collar increases next-to-skin comfort whilst the protective abrasion-resistant toe cap protects the feet from knocks and bangs. A Cleansport NXT treatment resides in the upper to prevent the build-up of odour-causing bacteria, keeping the Agility Peak fresher for longer and a gaiter D-ring attachment enables you to add a gaiter for further protection. Completing the upper is an integrated lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
FloatPro Foam Midsole
Within the midsole Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light, durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down. The lightweight midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, securely holding the foot in place for smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. Merrell's signature FlexConnect technology has been used within the midsole to ensure enhanced ground connection. FlexConnects dual-directional flex grooves ensure a secure fit and a natural and serious grip to deliver agility and stability on any terrain. A rock plate helps protect against sharp objects whilst permitting dexterity underfoot. Completing the midsole is an EVA insole that offers better cushioning, durability and increased breathability underfoot. The soft insole cushions your feet over long distances and increases ventilation to keep you cool when temperatures rise.
Vibram MegaGrip Outsole
Developed using a Vibram MegaGrip outsole, the Agility Peak provides extreme grip and traction for all surface wear. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip, the outsole provides traction on varied terrain for confident footing. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole are Vibram traction lugs that dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs anchor the foot into the wet and muddy ground, securing you into place whilst forming a solid base to push off from.
