GORE-TEX Upper
The Aequilibrium Hike GORE-TEX shoes are designed to provide your feet with optimal comfort, breathability, and protection. They utilize a synthetic, abrasion-resistant fabric that is highly durable and comfortable against your skin, allowing for distraction-free and confident strides. The anti-abrasive properties protect your shoes and feet from knocks, bumps, and dirt on the trails, making them a reliable walking companion. Additionally, the uppers have PFC-free water-repellent properties, providing extra protection in changing weather. The GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane ensures that your feet stay dry as you traverse constantly changing trails. No matter where you are in the world, the uppers will provide you optimum protection, as well as moisture-wicking properties, meaning they have a highly breathable construction, and work to prevent the build-up of sweat, even during the more intense periods of your hiking adventures. A 3D Flex System built into the higher ankle allows greater movement. The hinge system improves the fit and stability of the boot whilst providing better foot control on difficult terrain. The mid-cut design keep your ankles comfortably protected, and prevents the risk of dirt and debris from entering your shoes, alongside a soft collar and tongue that sits comfortably to prevent the risks of irritation or abrasion from occurring. Finally, a traditional lace-up system is secured with metal eyelets, locking down the ankle and midfoot for a secure fit to prevent in-shoe slipping during your hike.
PU Foam Midsole
Alongside the upper is a soft midsole that provides instant underfoot comfort. The PU midsole differs from the standard compression moulded EVA midsoles by providing a high degree of cushioning and a better elasticity of the fabric. Despite being extremely lightweight, the midsole is denser than EVA and provides protection and cushioning, keeping you going longer. The densely packed midsole absorbs shocks and dampens heavy impacts instantly, reducing the risk of injury and stopping early fatigue. Furthering comfort, a Mountain Hiking insole has been included for instant comfort as soon as you step into the boot. The midsole has a Double Heel which is very pronounced, this has a double rear block geometry that increases the braking effect on descents and allows for a smoother roll, reducing muscle fatigue.
Vibram Rubber Outsole
To supply you with a great pair of outdoor boots, the Aequillibrium Hike utilise a Vibram Rubber Outsole. The outsole compound enhances grip and traction on multiple surfaces, using a low-density polyurethane content which further maximises comfort and renders the sole highly adaptable to uneven terrain. The outsole also uses Impact Brake System Lugs for great adaptability to hard rock surfaces, and it offers real advantages during racing by reducing negative ground impact. The unique position of the lugs allows as many of them as possible to come into contact with the ground, for maximum impact absorption.
